If you buy tents wholesale, the single most useful thing to understand is who is actually behind the quote — a factory, a trading desk, or a broker. They are not the same, and the difference shows up the moment something goes wrong.
A factory owns the production line. A trader resells someone else's stock. A broker runs an export desk and places your order with a plant you never see. Each has a place; the problem is only when one claims to be another.
"We are a factory" is the line to verify, not trust. A real plant can show you the line, the certs and consistent capacity. If a supplier resists a video call of the workshop or can't name the fabric mill, treat the factory claim as unproven. The honest answer either way is the same: ask to see the floor, and the claim will verify itself.
At container scale, a 2% defect rate is thousands of units. The supplier you can verify and talk to beats the one with the lowest headline price and no paper trail. Pick for documentation and response, then negotiate price inside that short list.
